Hello everyone :)
Today I am going to write
about the characteristics of a good blog. Fiona, our lecturer, told us to have
a look at some blogs from last year’s first semester students to find out what
we like about their style of blogging. Well, I definitely found out that all of
them put a lot of effort into writing their posts. I hope I can make my blog as
convincing, funny, and authentic as they did.
Let’s become a bit more
concrete.
An important aspect is the
layout. I must admit that I preferred browsing through blogs with an
interesting, unusual or colourful layout. Great backgrounds, cool scripts and
especially pictures catch the reader’s attention. I am definitely going to use
pictures and animations because they brighten the blog and support the posts.
By the way, I really like the aquarium at the bottom of my page. Fish are kind
of calming, aren’t they? ;)
Most of the blogs I had a look
at include regular travel reports. That’s great because I really enjoy reading
about foreign countries and cultures. Writing about trips is something I am
going to do as well. I think one of my next free posts will be about my trip to Dublin
this year.
The blog fortymillionminutes
is quite special in my eyes because the blogger appeals to the readers. The
writer uses the blog to call attention to important topics. I think that’s a
great idea, and I especially like the blog about organ donation. Another thing
I like about fortymillionminutes is the name (hilarious idea and explanation)
and the stories about famous and not so famous people. Overall, this blog is
one of my favourite ones. Have a look at it!
Many of the blogs include also
movie reviews. I would love to include some book reviews because I really enjoy
reading and I would like to share some of my favourite books with my readers. Maybe
I can inspire them to read on or another good book.
Altogether, I hope that my
blog will become as colourful, interesting and passionate as some of the blogs
I have been reading in the last few days. I promise, I'll try. ;)
